This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 02, 2008:
"until death do us part"
...i finally decided it was probably better to break my word than to have to kill him.
ps - no, the next time around, that was not part of the vows.
pps - i changed the title to more accurately express the question i felt was being asked. it is not very difficult at all to make promises, it's the breaking them that hurts.

Help

speaking of weird promises, anyone notice that new ad they're inflicting upon us? the one that seems to be saying if you use their credit card, you will be “saving the planet”??? all you gotta do, folks, is spend money you ain't got, to buy things you don't need! and the planet will be better for it. hahahahahahaaaa
and i'm on a roll, so dammit i'm gonna let loose.
what about those people who say they won't have kids because of the carbon footprint? yeah, like babies pollute the environment. wrong again! babies don't trash up the planet, parents who buy disposable diapers and artificial baby milk do. hey, maybe they can use one of them there “green” credit cards, and make those mountains of plastic diapers and such not be so horrible… hmmmm
ahhhhh, yes and let's buy some more stuff that we will throw away in a year with the green credit card. the stuff that uses up the planets resources. you know the stuff that life could go on without……..
when i think about this i come back to a promise, one person at a time is what i can do to be the change.
That was the most painful promise I broke, till death do us part. I think all promises are hard to keep. Promises are very costly to all parties concerned.
That credit card ad?– I haven't noticed cause I only read the ads that have Great White Bears on them, but it is also about making a promise: I promise I will pay you–someday. Those are real hard promises to keep too.
thank you beautiful ladies for your loverly comments this morning!!
that “obey” thing was in there, too. nasty things, vows can be.
I'm glad you didn't kill him : )
it would be fair to say that we (the ex and i) are both very lucky to have made it past the age of thirty, at the rate things were going back in our twenties.
i refer to that as amazing grace. we are so very lucky when it reaches us, before we really mess things up.
glad you made it to who and where you are now!

LMAO…I was gonna write the same thing! Hahahhahahaha.
And that ad is too freakin funny. People bite the idea, but don't look past surface appearance…umm…or use logic :-D
Good choice…blessings and joy with your choice, my friend,
