If you were enlightened, how would your life be different?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 09, 2009:
oh, if i was "enlightened" i'd be playing that spiritual heirarchy game. it's not a game i would much like to play, though. i don't like it when some folks think they're better than others. hate that shit, actually. if i was enlightened, i'd have me a million followers bowing and scraping and slobbering over every word i speak. i'd have ten million voices singing my song, and every one of them would be wrong. if i were enlightened, the world would be a very very dark place in which to live. no thanks.

[groupthink] involves believing that the members of your group are
superior than people who are not in your group. (to say that some are
“higher evolved” or “spiritually enlightened” is a prime example of

what is it you really want? how can you get it if you don't even know what it is?
i looked inside, and it wasn't easy. it was real scary. there's demons
in there, you know. but there's something even better in there, a fire,
and those demons don't like that fire so much. everybody's got a
little spark of something inside them. your fire might be totally
different than mine is, most likely very different. that's how it
works, see. that's what is so wonderful about all of it. and nobody,
not anyone else, can tell you what it is or how to find it. the ones
who say they can, that's just their big puffed up egos talkin, which
isn't really any different than those demons i mentioned up there
earlier, you know. burn all that junk off and you're left with what's
really you. :-)

ah, the spark does seem to be different for everyone. i like the blog perspective on the followers and the song. how true that must be, to manifest your personal light so that you can see your path and sing your personal mantra to keep youself company on that path only to hear something behind you….YIKES! it's a hoard of other folk who have been trying to follow you and are now trying to sing along!
and, then, you're like, “NO, NO, NO! i'm showing you how i roll so that you can figure out how you roll! don't follow me; this is my thang! yeah, you can do what i'm doin' but it has gotta be based on your thang on your path singin' YOUR song!” hey, didn't the carpenter say something like that 2K ago? – “Don't worship me; become me.”
Stacy, you don't want to get any more enlightened in my humble opinion or you'd become so light you'd blow away like a whisp of smoke and we'd lose sight of you- Don't wan't that happening, now, do we? I've already written about the spark too but can't find it for the mo. shucks, drat, darn, F***, S***, (inseert your own favourite=most shocking cuss word).
OOOPS! I better watch my language or I'll get eleminated, or enamelled or something hideous and will disappear like a whisp of smoke, without ever reaching enlightement.

This is great, Stacy. I love how you express your authentic self. Hey maybe if you were a great guru and hundreds of thousands were slobbering over you, you'd buy them all ice cream cones. And they'd all look at the ice cream and think it was the greatest spiritual teaching ever. Just a thought. You're probably right what you said. :)
