independence? WTF?!!

Posted on Jul 4th, 2009 by boogie : anarchist boogie
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 04, 2009:

in 1776, a bunch of rich white guys got together, see.  and they made a contract with some other rich white guys on the other side of the ocean, see.  and they signed this contract between themselves, giving them authority to control people's lives.  but i didn't sign that contract.  i wasn't there.  my ancestors didn't sign that contract, either.  they were deliberately left out of the proceedings altogether.  but somehow, everyone thinks it's binding.  it don't even obey it's own rules!

so we had this here "revolutionary war"  (which is really strange, as both "sides" instead of fighting each other, were simply killing off the natives in vast quantities to clear the land for exploitation).  and this war created a huge debt.  and this debt enslaved the population to the banks, and to the very king they claimed "independence" from!

wait!  what the fuck was the question again?  hahahaha
"independence" is a joke, but it's not very funny.  it's one of those words that means the exact opposite what we are told it means.  like liberty, and justice, and rights.  it's a trick.  a con.  maybe that's why they call it the CONstitution?

So when someone wrote…

“Give us your poor, your tired, your huddled masses longing to be free…”

They really meant it didn't they?  Not so much to give them freedom, but why should others have poor, tired, huddled masses and we don't?  I think now they are called illegal immigrants and cheap labor for the ancestors of the founding fathers.

Love your perspective boogie!

I applaud your right and freedom to speak your mind, Stacey. I'm glad you live in country where you will not be detained for speaking sedition.  There are still countries around the world that still hide their women away and censor every publicly written word.  Somalia is an independent little country, no government to speak of, and running with blood on the sword.  We have, however, not only refined a state of freedom, but welcomes the oppressed, and finances a large portion of democratic efforts around the world.  Whatever,  it's still the Fourth of July and I'm going to celebrate my freedom as hard as I can, till the last Starburst fades away,  then wake up tomorrow and be glad all over again.

but sandi, i don't believe that a democracy forced upon people through acts of extreme violence and cruelty (war) is a good thing for anyone.  democracy, supposedly, means majority rules.  what we have is a republic, where a few represent (ie, make decisions for) the many.  and even if the majority should decide some things for the rest of us, what if they're wrong?  what makes it okay for any person to tell any other person what is right and what is wrong?  why can't we just all make our own decisions?  what is so frightening about the idea of freedom, that we would ever choose anything else?

but boogie!  who would take our precious minerals out of the ground and put them back in huge vaults so no one else can have them?  with true freedom we wouldn't need to dump wheat in the sea and keep people starving and frightened.

you idea of freedom is just too much truth for the rich and the poor to handle.  :-)

Stacey, I'm wondering, did you vote?  Is your mail delivered unread?  Do you have clean water to drink?  Do the traffic lights work in your town?  If your house catches fire. will the fire department come to your aid?  Are your children being educated?  I'm just asking that you not throw out the Baby with the bathwater, after all, we're only a little over 200 years old.  All the Nations of the globe have struggled for the same principles and I haven't heard of one yet that has achieved Utopia- status.  Solon had the right Idea and how many years ago has that been?  The Magna Carta was an amazing step forward in human liberties, and that was when?  Just where is this perfect world?  Working together for the common good is our other best option, this in a world that would no doubt eat your lunch in under a minute. A lot of people can't take lunch for granted but they will take yours, just give them a chance.  Like I said, I applaud you, you're working for your beliefs.  Be the change you want to see.  Reality check:  North Korea wants your house and car, oh yes, and your lunch.

i do not vote.  they never counted my vote when i tried, anyway.  it's a lie.  the media tells us who won, and the public eats it up with little question, except when there's orchestrated drama (delivered daily via tv and radio and newspapers) to distract the public's attention from what is really going on.

this world is the perfect world we seek!  a system of abuse and control cannot be maintained for long.  it will fail.  it is a flawed system, this on which our society is based.  it goes back to around 400bc when plato built upon aristotle's structure and explained how global domination works.  because the system is flawed, it is doomed to fail.  this happens systematically, controlled destruction in order to rebuild based upon the same structure.  we don't have to do it that way.  the system will fail, is failing, right now.  it is being torn apart, to rebuild the new order.  but if the new order is yet another system based upon the same controls, it too will fail just as all the ones before it did.  we could choose instead to be free.  but people are afraid because they don't understand freedom.  they fear the unknown.  not only that, we are taught to fear it.  we are taught that the controls are good for us, they call it the common good, or the common purpose, the good of the group.  but it isn't.  the state exists to control.  freedom would be the opposite of any such controls.  freedom is the state's only enemy.

we are taught that we are bad and that humans need to be controlled for our own good.  i simply do not believe this is true.  i believe everyone has the ability to know right from wrong, and to make their own decisions for themselves.  it works great for my children (who, by the way, do not attend school), freedom does, allowing them to make their own decisions.  why can't it work for grownups, as well?

one more analogy and then off to play with those beautiful kids of mine.
used to be, people thought you had to beat kids into submission to make them act right.  now folks realize that it was the beatings themselves that made them such mean little shits in the first place.  it's no longer socially acceptable to beat a horse or a dog into submission, but in some places, it is still okay to do the same to your wife or children.  just because the majority approves, doesn't make it alright with me.  abuse sucks.  no matter what level it is perpetrated.  and i will stand against it, always.

Stacy,

I don't agree with everything that you say. (but I do agree with allot of what you say) The thing that I really like about you is you couldn't care any less of what people think. That is a wonderful trait.

You have a very honest eye and you bring up issues that people should really be thinking about.

Just keep being Stacey and I'll keep reading your stuff.
