What do you think is dangerous?

Posted on Jul 17th, 2009 by boogie : anarchist boogie
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 17, 2009:

the most dangerous thing anyone can do is allow someone else to do their thinking.  the danger lies not in those who would happily take over and tell you exactly what you should believe and how you should act, oh no, not them.  the danger lies within, in forsaking your own freedom to the extent that you would allow that to happen.  freedom is a gift.  treasure it.  keep it.  and give it away!  share it with everyone you come in contact with, they have as much right to it as anyone else, we all do.

I agree, it's no fun living in a cage.

some people have no choice in the matter, no control over certain circumstances, and are born (and live their entire lives) inside a cage, jeannie.  but their thoughts are still their own.  the ones who know they are inside a cage just might be more free than the ones who mistakenly believe they aren't.  one less illusion to shatter, as it were, on the way to finding truth.

Viktor Frankl discovered this wisdom of being responsible for one's thoughts no matter what the circumstances that you speak of, stacy; sometimes, we think we must adopt the thoughts and beliefs of others to survive, so you are right in indicating that is an illusion.

It's a battle for your MIND.

I think it is ofcourse possible to listen to another and see if it rings true to you.  Listening to someone else can ofcourse help you to make up your own mind.                                       All is One

I am referring to the cage, be it guilded we set up for ourselves within our minds. For me that is primarily where I reside. I once had a vision of myself outside of the open doored golden cage as a bird sitting on a blue chair. It took me years to feel safe enough to leave the cage.

blewbird,
I agree, freedom is also something that can be passed on, the message. There is a path - can be a roadmap on our way to finding our own unique path. We do our best to guide ourselves, for my belief is that it is what we intend for others we give ourselves.

i do not agree.  telling me “All is One” is about the same as telling me i'm going to hell if i don't start going to church.  i'm not buying that crap, no matter how pretty the packaging is.  no matter how many of my friends are drinking that kool-aid, i don't want any.

freedom can be shared, tho.  you can allow everyone the chance to think for themselves.  religions tell us what to think in order to prevent us from thinking on our own.  sure, there's good people that follow bad religions.  doesn't matter what religion it is, tho, if you aren't doing your own thinking for yourself, if you aren't even allowed to!  and yes, ariela, it is a crime, punishable by an eternity of torment.  newage mumbo jumbo isn't any different than any other religion.  the old religions weren't working so well anymore, people were asking too many questions.  answers have been provided for you, so you don't have to do that nasty thinking on your own, there is a guru out there more than willing to do it for you.

Wow I didn't mean to say that you were going to hell if you don't go to church.   I ment to say that it doesn't make any difference if you believed all is One or not.  If we are all one what difference does it make if you believed it or not.  We are still all One.

I agree with you on religion but I try to listen to my heart or feeling.   I think you should go inside become silent and listen to what your heart tells you instead of listening to your thoughts or thinking.   I believe religions most of the time are looking backwards instead of looking forward.  God is Love and you won't feel that with your thinking.

i think there's nothing wrong with what i believe, and i don't need your stinkin' religion of oneness.  i think you think your religion is the one truth that is true for everyone, that's what i think.  i think you think everyone should believe your Truth.  i think you think it's okay to proselytize at me, because your religion is the good one, and that brainwashing is only bad when those other religions do it.  that's what i think.

this is my blog, it is my space.  you knew already that i do not share your beliefs, we've gone round and round on this before.  i didn't go posting on your blog, just to stir shit with you, did i?  ever?!  no, i did not, because i respect your space and your beliefs apparently a great deal more than you respect mine.  i don't need you coming here on my blog, telling me how your religion is Truth, and that i need to find it, and if i don't there must be something wrong with me that needs your help to fix it.  no.  get a grip.  i don't need your stinkin' religion!!  even if you don't call it that.  i have my own beliefs, thankyouverymuch.  i don't need yours to feel complete.  your religion comes with blame and with shame and guilt and calls itself love?  no.  love doesn't play control games.  love doesn't reward you for good behavior, nor punish  you for bad.  but your religion does.  that's what my heart says.  but you aren't listening to me.  or you wouldn't think i need to listen to my heart.  you just like to come here to tell me how wrong i am, because it makes you feel superior that i don't share your religious beliefs.

spirituality is subjective.  it can only be found within.  your religion, like all other religions, is not only an objectification of the subjective spirituality some people have experienced, it is watered-down for mass consumption and homogenized into what was supposed to be a One World Religion.

do you know who the theosophists were who started this game?  they were satanists.  that's right.  and they figured nobody would want to worship their devil, so they call him the angel of light now.  and all you mindfucked lightworkers, with your white-light spiritual dope, thinking you are on the “good” side, worshipping your lucifer (“bringer of light”) and thinking everyone should do the same.  no.  no fucking way.

it doesn't matter which side you are on.  if you pick a side, you are supporting the structure of society that abuses us all.  the world is not made of black and white, no matter what big brother says.  balance is to be found in the shades of gray.  if you stand in the light, everything is too bright, and you can't see.  if you stand in the dark, it's too dark, and you can't see.  i'm sticking to the shadows, where there's vision.  if you feel compelled to close your eyes and follow someone else's path, i don't care, that is your choice to make.  but it is not your choice to tell me what path i should be walking.

here's what i believe is true.  i am not saying that it is true for anyone but myself.  this is how i see it.  what you call “oneness” is but one-fourth of who we are.  it is water, one of the four elements.  it is not All.  it flows through all life on earth, constantly flowing, always changing, and it connects us all together.  but it does not make us All One.

you know nothing about my beliefs.  but yet you pity me because i don't share your truth.  is my truth not good enough?  i found it within.  nobody gave it to me on a silver platter.  i had to find it myself.  where did you get your beliefs?  did you read them in a book?  did you pay ten thousand dollars to go to a fancy enlightenment seminar in the himalayas?  how much did you pay for your religion?  do you know the cost of allowing someone else to tell you what to believe?  if you did, you wouldn't be telling me what i should believe is true.  if you had found truth, within, as you claim you have, you would respect that i found my truth, within, as well, and that it's every bit as valid as yours, even if we don't agree.

Dear boogie,   I am sorry if I upset you with my beliefs.   I thought we could talk and I could get accross how i feel and I could listen to how you seen things.   I just want to make the world a better place, starting with myself.  I am trying to do that the best way I know.  I had hoped that we could be friends.   PLease forgive me.    I know that there has been some terrible things that have gone on in the past and that are going on right now, but I hope for a better future.    With Love Carlton

Yes, I would say that I do accept you as you are.   I would also say that I feel that you and I and humanity and the planet earth is changing each and every second and that we can either help create that change or can be pushed along.  Either way change happens.   You are getting older and wiser everyday.

yes, change happens.  it is supposed to.  trying to control that change only fucks everything up.  this is why governments and religions fail.  because they are based on control instead of freedom, they serve to “govern” (ie, slow down) the natural processes of change.

if we stop trying to control people, they would be free.  this is a good thing.  if we stop trying to control the world…  well, that's my idea of utopia.

I don't see goverments and religions or people as failing, just evolving.   One day sometime in the future we will see governments and religions and people that truly repersent God's will and we will all be living in the kingdom of Heaven.   What is God's will?  In my opioion to live in freedom, harmoney, peace and love.

We are all gods. O yes and goddesses. I think the stories represent something in our psyche. Religion is art, made by man like myths, fairy tales and legends, all serve a similar purpose. It seems these are used to manipulate by the power hungry. Many rewritten. I don't think we are suited to be governed by other human beings, what right does a man have to rule another?

blewbird : lightoftheworld

Yes, Jeannie I agreee that power hungry people do try to manipulate people, and sometimes they get away with it.   I don't feel that anyman has the right to rule another.   I do think that it is good for one man to serve another.   The government has a lot of shortcomings but it does provide certain serveses that it would be diffult to do without.  Schools, police, firefighters, are just a few of many thousands of things including social sucurity, they make laws protecting children they provide a system where a poor person can have his day in court.  Is they system flawed?  Yes  Do concerned citizens do their best to make it better?  Of course we do.   Look back and see the improvements that we have made.   We were one ruled by a king.   We once had slavery in this country.  We once died by the many thousands in wars.   We are still dying to make men free.  Do we get it wrong sometimes?  Yes, ofcourse we do, but we go on.   Do I want my grandchildren to grow up without laws to protect them from the power hungry people that you talk about?  No, Ofcourse not.  Do I want for us to work together for the common good?  Yes I do.          Peace and Joy to you

yes, jeannie, and humans would too, if allowed the chance for freedom to happen.  but people like blewbird don't want that to happen.  they are afraid to be free, or to let anyone else be free, either.  they believe we need to be controlled, for the good of the group, the greater good, the common purpose, which is an ideology that hurts every individual both inside and outside the group.

everything i want to say about this, i have already said before.  it's online, here and many other places.  search is your friend.  tags are useful, too.

Jeannie,  I will have to take your word on dolphins,   I thought the government protected them from power hungry fishermen who carelessly hurt and kill them.   I know we have to protect the whales and turtles and without regulation we would catch all the fish in parts of the oceans

boogie,  If you knew me, I don't think you would say that I am afraid to be free.   You may think that you know my type but I'm not sure of that.   I don't see myself as being afraid of anything including death.  I am not interested in being in pain but if is to be, I will do my best to live with it.
